Dear Derby Participant,
Thank you very much for participating in SCRA Ski Club’s ice fishing derby on Saturday January 28th. Our derby was the fist of several events that are being planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our ski club. What a great success! The day could not have been better as we had plenty of ice, nice weather and fish biting.
Please join us in congratulating all of the prize winners, young and old. Several large bass were caught with the largest weighing in at 5 pounds and one ounce. Many of the locals have not seen the number of pickerel brought in for some time. The perch were small but were being caught. A total of fifty-one fish were caught in the adult categories. Fifteen were caught by children, age twelve and under.
As you know, the derby was organized to benefit Worcester County Food Bank. All proceeds have now been donated to the Food Bank. A total of $3,715.00 was donated on the day of the derby as a result of eighty-four derby registrations and several generous donations. Since then, an additional $1,571.12 has been presented to the Food Bank as a result of the two raffles and the very successful concession stand that were run throughout the day of the derby. That brings our fund raising effort to $5,286.12!
Thank you again for your generous donation and especially for your part in making our derby a huge success for SCRA Ski Club and especially, the Worcester County Food Bank. We could not have done it without you!
