The South Charlton Reservoir Association (SCRA) Water Ski Club, in celebration of its 50th Anniversary in 2006, has set a goal of raising $50,000 for charitable causes including the Worcester County Food Bank, Why Me, and The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. The first of several planned fundraising events open to the public begins this winter.

The club's celebration plans include an Ice Fishing Derby, Wine Tasting, Bike Ride, and Team Challenge in which teams of 10 people compete in a day-long program of biking, walking, running, canoeing, and pie-eating. Teams also score points by raising money from sponsors. Celebration activities will culminate next August in a ski show held on South Charlton Reservoir where 50 water skiers will be pulled simultaneously.
